Review – Law & Order UK Series 5 Episode 2 Safe

The plot of it made me think this episode could turn out to be a bit terrific. Stories involving children being killed or abducted usually provide the most dramatic stories in cop dramas. Sad so it is.

It didn’t disappoint, although it did start slow. I feared during the first twenty minutes or so that it was going to turn out to be quite a toothless installment. It seemed the story was heading down a family dispute route which would have been a let-down given the promise but as soon as that was shown not to be the case events became top notch. The episode was clearly influenced by itself on the Baby P case. It didn’t go over the top but it was dark enough to make the tone very emotive, which is when this show is at its best. Any Law & Order episode is a highlight when it uses a real life event as a theme.

The show continues to show no harm from the cast change. Again showing itself to be improved, this was a really good episode.

See you next time!
