Preview – Richard Hammond’s Journey To The Centre Of The Planet.

Before I began watching, the title of it caused me to get all jovial and wonder how much of a loss to the British public it would be if Hammond got stuck in the middle of the Earth….

My reaction in the opening moments was a cynical one. It seemed like Hammond had managed to score another around the world jaunt courtesy of the BBC in the name of yet another pretty irrelevant documentary. Of course he does go to a lot of places over the course of the hour but as it went on, my interest grew.

Some interesting information about how things work below the surface of the Earth and some really cool graphics to illustrate the information given make this documentary very visually impressive and interesting.

If you like National Geographic/Discovery stuff and or special effects I would suggest you watch this. It isn’t bad.

Richard Hammond’s Journey To The Centre Of The Planet airs Tuesday the 19th of July at 9pm on BBC1.
