However, when the playboy begins to bond with Veda, Mildred is forced to make a difficult decision that could have devastating consequences for her family.

The Peter Davison era on Law & Order UK begins when Series 5 premieres on Sunday
Brought into A&E with flu-like symptoms and leaving in a body bag, Suzanne Morton’s death is treated as suspicious by DS Ronnie Brooks (Bradley Walsh) and DS Matt Devlin (Jamie Bamber) as they investigate a hospital department which has had three such untimely deaths within six months. With an extremely busy A&E ward the night Suzanne died, can our heroes find the killer before the killer finds their next victim?

ITV peeks into the Jewish way of life in Manchester on Monday
Strictly Kosher, filmed, produced and directed by Chris Malone, revolves around three families and their friends and paints a colourful picture of the juxtaposition between the many different personalities and levels of religious observance in Manchester’s Jewish community. It offers an insight into lifestyles which range from one extreme – traditional and strict – to the other – modern and extravagant – but are bound together by one faith.

The BBC’s adaptation of The Night Watch premieres on Tuesday
Set against the turbulent backdrop of London in the 1940s, this adaptation of Sarah Waters’ best-selling novel, The Night Watch, follows four young Londoners inextricably linked by their wartime experiences. In a time when the barriers of sexual morality and social convention have been broken down, Kay, Helen, Viv and Duncan enjoy a freedom never experienced before.

Single Handed returns for a second series on Thursday
The second series will see Jack Driscoll (McDonnell – Mount Pleasant) facing new challenges as he continues the lonely role of policing his rural terrain in the West of Ireland. Jack lives above the Garda station now. His deputy, Finbarr Colvin (David Herlihy) is opportunistic and venal which often leaves Jack working single-handed with back-up a very long way away.

Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night returns Friday
Chris Moyles returns with a new series of TV’s most raucous celebrity quiz show. The first celebrity guests are America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), Kimberly Wyatt (from Pussycat Dolls and Got to Dance) and Alan Carr who battle Chris as they show off their knowledge and try to secure a place in the grand final and quip their way to the illustrious top spot on the series leader board.
